Getting to know the photographer of T Maries photography llc
Hello my friends! I am now entering into blogland. With some trial and error I should be able to conquer this program. Learning never ends. So what do you say we get this party started? This 1st post will be an all about me post. I feel it is always nice to get to know the photographer (that's me) that perhaps one day will help you create memories that will last forever. I was pretty much raised from age 4 or maybe earlier in a small town of Lone Rock, WI. The billboard for the town says "We are the coldest in the nation with the warmest hearts". It is very true. So many wonderful people in and around here that I have gotten to know over the years.
I was always a creative child, loving everything and anything to do with art. I always have loved photography, but back in the day it just seemed out of reach to learn all there was to figure out with film development, and proper schooling. Then babies came along. Always took photos on a small camera, even cheap disposable ones but usually never made it to the development stage and into my hands. So sad to think about all the beautiful photos of my babies I will never see again. So fast forward a bit, I received my first high tech camera ( at least I thought it was) from my loving husband. He had and still does encourages me to follow my dreams.
I used that camera all the time! I was just a hobbiest back then. I took photos of a few weddings for friends, just about anything. My husband first noticed my photography growing (hmmm, he really does pay attention) and my abilities evolving through the years. So, not long ago, I had hurt my back and found I could no longer do the heavy lifting and moving furniture around like I had been in my other business ( antiques and home decor).
One day, while talking things over with my husband I mentioned to him that I was thinking about going back to college for something to do with the medical field (I was a nurse ...LPN...) so I thought I would at least be able to have a desk job. My husband disagreed with my intentions and suggested I take my photography to the next level, professionally, to see how it goes. He told me that I was to creative to be sitting behind the desk all day, and knew that I would not like it. I am my worst critic, I kinda headbutted with him on his idea at first. I never thought of my work as professional at all. I told him that I would consider it.
It was only a week later, in talking with my friend, I mentioned to her that I was trying to figure out what I should/could do as far as my next job. She imediately told me without hesitation that I should persue my photography professionally. I laughed and said that was kinda funny that she mentioned that and told her that was my husband's words exactly. Sometimes things happen for a reason (I believe), and all along it was just staring me in the face. So here I am , today, more educated and always continuing to educate myself in photography, always leaning new things in this tech salvy world, taking photos for others. I love doing this so much! I eat, breath and sleep thinking and doing photography. I also am now a member of the Professional Photographer's Association.
I will stop here for now and maybe another post I will continue to enlighten you more. Have a blessed day!
